The Newcastle District Conference was divided because half of the district is in or near Ladysmith and Ezakheni, and the second half live near Newcastle and Madedeni. They are about a 90 minute drive from each other. Saturday we started out at the Ezakheni Chapel. President Thompson taught the priesthood auxiliary meeting, while Sister Thompson presided and taught the womens auxiliary meeting. Afterward, they spoke at the adult session, along with Elder Mabaya, general authority of the church, from the District Republic of Congo, and other leaders of the district. Later that day they drove to the Madedeni Chapel and did the same. That evening, they drove back to Ladysmith so that Sunday morning they could speak at the general session in Ezakheni....then back to Madedeni that afternoon. It was a special experience to travel with Elder Mabaya. It was an added blessing that President Thompson speaks french and could interpret for Elder Mabaya at each of the meetings.

Such a great couple and enormous asset to the mission. They organized the district conference and did a tremendous job!
The front two rows are the choir. They sing acapella. They were amazing!
The four standing next to President Thompson are going on missions! There are 14 missionaries already serving from this branch!
Branch members here are fantastic!
