New Missionaries Assignments

After arriving in Durban, we stopped at the temple site, then to the office - later everyone will go to the mission home for dinner, testimony meeting, and assignments. They will sleep at the mission bunkhouse, and then off they go!

Missionaries are filling out questionnaires and forms before they interview one at a time with President Thompson. While one is interviewing, the others get a chance to drive (those with a license) on the left side of the road! That's the way it's done here!

A few minutes of tracting before coming to the mission home for dinner and testimony meeting!

When missionaries first come to the mission home, I teach them about staying healthy! Then we have dinner, testimony meeting, and assignments are revealed!

The new missionaries have been awake since 4:00 AM for their travel to Durban. But they are eager to find out their assigned areas.

 Elder Homer (AP) bears testimony.

Time to gather around the mission map and see what areas they will be assigned.

 Back: Elders Wendel, Nobunga, Shaw
Front: Elders Ochom, Morales, Bernard

Elder Shaw is going to Phahameng which is a long bus ride from the mission. It's a great area and his trainer is Elder Zimunhu

Elder Bernard is going to Imbali, about an hour drive from Durban, and training by Elder Guymon

Elder Ochom is going to Ezakheni - about 2 1/2 hour drive from here to be trained by Elder Huntington

Elder Nobunga will be trained by Elder Cox in Kwamashu, only about 25 minute drive away

Elder Wendel is going to Khubetsoana in Lesotho, trained by Elder Mnisi - this is about a 7 hour drive

Elder Morales is going to Port Dunford. He will be trained by Elder Warner - this is about a 2 hour drive from Durban

We are so thrilled to have these new missionaries join us. They are now officially adopted into our mission family, forever! So happy to have their eager spirits to serve here!
