Young Single Adult Event

We had a fabulous evening with about 36 Young Single Adults at the mission home.

We are blessed to know such valiant and wonderful YSA's!

While waiting for everyone to arrive, we asked everyone to sign a special book we have of South Africa. It is one of our traditions to have everyone who enters the mission home to sign it.

To start the evening we enjoyed pizza, cool drink, and dessert!

I can't believe we squeezed everyone in!
Each person stands to introduce themselves and offer one unique thing about themselves!

President Thompson gave a spiritual message.

We played the "helium pipe" game.  The initial try is to lower this pipe as a team - it becomes surprising, because instead of going down to the ground as instructed, the pipe goes upward. When you put both fingers on the bottom of the pipe and are told that as a team you must lower it to the ground, the pipe always goes up. However, as they work diligently and together, with concise communication, it takes a lot of effort in getting the pipe to the ground. They eventually did it!

We received a beautiful lesson by this young brother.

I was asked to answer questions about dating by a few, and then it grew into everyone participating!

I tried to emphasize the importance of always keeping focus toward the temple while dating and after marriage!

We had some terrific questions and discussions about dating and relationships.

A Christ centered relationship is crucial in dating and marriage!

Recognizing, understanding, and appreciating differences in one another can bring strength and stability to a relationship - always striving to keep the spirit is essential! Being the right person is also a crucial element to a good relationship!

We met this young Sister in the MTC in Johannesberg a little over 18 months ago! She is already back from serving a mission!

We are blessed to have spent some time this evening with these wonderful YSA's!

We enjoyed having these Young Single Adults at the mission home.
